Mónica Aranegui
Mónica Desirée was born in Madrid in 1979. After getting her degree as psichologist by the UNED University in 2005, she does the EFTI School Master in documental and creative photography.
Currently she is a doctoral student of Applied Creativity at the Bellas Artes Faculty in Madrid.
“My photography is a personal diary, in which my personal experiences, emotions, feelings and sensations set the narrative tone of the images. They are short stories the character tells us while allowing us to imagine our own. Not everything is told. It’s a way of perceiving and reflecting on reality and looking for magical nooks, the ones I find in my memory that make me think that the perception of reality is polyhedral and we choose which face we want to show. It’s a way of life, of daydreaming, of imagining and transforming recognizable spaces into others where the line that separates reality from dreams is blurry”.
